Matt Goddard, a pioneering leader in the digital marketing industry and former CEO and founder of Baltimore’s R2i, has died at age 53 according to several sources.
Goddard co-founded R2integrated (later known as R2i) in 2005 with Chris Chodnicki and Dave Taub. Under Goddard’s and his partners’ leadership, the company grew and attracted top-tier national clients before being acquired by Baird Capital in 2016.
Capitol Communicator reported that in 2022 global consulting firm Protiviti acquired R2i to grow its digital transformation and customer experience offering to clients.
“Matt’s role as CEO was more than strategic; it was visionary,” business partner and R2i co-founder Chodnicki wrote on LinkedIn. “His ability to navigate challenges, anticipate future trends, and embrace change positioned R2i as a regional and eventually national force. Baltimore held a special place in Matt’s heart, evident in his commitment to the tech startup community and our company’s growth milestones.
