Foley Hoag LLP announced today that John Lanza has joined the firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property Department and Technology Industry Group. Lanza is a patent attorney with nearly three decades of experience counseling startups and established companies in the fast-paced technology sector.

Lanza joins Foley Hoag from Foley & Lardner, and will be resident in the Boston office. Throughout his career, Lanza has made a reputation of providing practical, data-driven counsel on acquiring, transferring, and protecting intellectual property rights for enterprise software, semiconductor, and advertising technology companies. He is a Certified Patent Valuation Analyst.

Lanza’s hiring bolsters the expanding intellectual property group at the firm. He joins Foley Hoag just weeks after a team led by partner Amy Baker Mandragouras arrived from Cooley.
Lanza received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, and both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
