Fried Frank and NYU Institute for Corporate Governance & Finance Host Second Annual “REITs During a Time of Disruption”

Fried Frank and the NYU Institute for Corporate Governance & Finance brought together thought leaders in the REIT space for another successful forum. The second annual event, “REITs During a Time of Disruption,” covered topics related to recent market developments and featured a fireside chat with Fried Frank Real Estate Chairman Jonathan Mechanic and President and COO of Blackstone Jonathan Gray. 

Panel discussions included:

  • “REITs’ Challenges and Opportunities in an Evolving Inflationary and Rising Interest Rate Environment,” which featured Fried Frank partner and head our REIT Practice Stuart Barr; Jeff Horowitz, Global Head of Real Estate, Gaming & Lodging Investment Banking at BofA Securities; Mark Howard-Johnson, Managing Director and Global Head of Real Estate Securities Management at BlackRock; John D. Moragne, Chief Executive Officer and Director at Broadstone Net Lease, Inc.; and Susan M. Wachter, Albert Sussman Professor of Real Estate and Professor of Finance at The Wharton School and Co-Director at the Penn Institute for Urban Research.
  • “M&A in a Capital Constrained Environment,” which featured Fried Frank partner and co-head of our M&A Practice Philip Richter; Kellan Florio, Chief Investment Officer at VICI Properties; Katie Keenan, Senior Managing Director at Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies Group and CEO of Blackstone Mortgage Trust; Guy Metcalfe, Managing Director and Global Chairman of Real Estate at Morgan Stanley; and Andrea Olshan, CEO and President at Seritage Growth Properties.
