UHY LLP and UHY Advisors Mid-Atlantic, Inc. announced two leadership-level promotions in their McLean, VA office. Barry Thomas was promoted to Managing Director, and Monish Banga was named the office’s new Managing Partner.

Mr. Thomas, a member of the Audit & Assurance Department, maintains more than 30 years of client experience in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. His skills and experience include financial audits across sectors, individual tax services, employee benefit plan audits, commercial and individual taxes, and comprehensive support with client accounting software systems. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). He received a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Geneva College and is a licensed CPA in Virginia.
Mr. Banga has over 20 years of experience in public accounting and three years of experience in private accounting. He works extensively with startup businesses, S Corporations, and LLCs in various industries, including in the international sector. Additionally, he has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities. In his role at UHY, Mr. Banga works closely with clients to develop strong business and personal relationships, stressing the importance of building lasting relationships with clients to staff. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Tech and is a licensed CPA in Virginia.
Both leaders became part of the UHY family through the 2023 addition of Ross, Langan & McKendree, LLP (RLM) to the company’s nationwide slate of accounting and consulting offices. Their respective promotions reflect the prompt impact each leader has made on the firm to date.
Colette Cahill, the office’s current managing partner who transitioned from RLM, will continue as a partner with the firm.
