About John V. Kelly III
Kelly practices in Norris McLaughlin, P.A.’s Labor and Employment Law group, focusing on litigation matters and on advising clients, both employers and employees, on employment law matters. He has experience with employment agreements, as well as negotiation of employment and severance packages, employee policy manuals, and appeals, including discrimination and sexual harassment suits, workplace investigations, and wage and hour compliance and investigations. Kelly is included in the 2024 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America list.
An Army veteran, Kelly is a JAG Officer in the New Jersey Army National Guard. He is Norris McLaughlin, P.A.’s Emerging Leader contact for Meritas®, a global alliance of leading independent firms. In 2020, Kelly was elected to the Nutley Board of Commissioners, where he serves as Commissioner and Director of Nutley’s Public Affairs and Health Department.
Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, P.A., Kelly was a clerk for the Hon. Christine Farrington, J.S.C., New Jersey Superior Court, Hudson County, Law Division. He then worked as a litigation associate at a mid-sized New Jersey law firm. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and received his B.S., cum laude, from Georgia Institute of Technology.
