Dr. Lisa A. Napolitano Expands Successful Psychology Practice, Shares Wisdom, Benefits Of Behavioral Therapies In Newest Book

Dr. Lisa A. Napolitano, a licensed psychologist, entrepreneur, and author is expanding her practice and the benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with a growing office in South Florida and through her upcoming book, “Dr. Lisa Says: Wisdom from CBT and DBT.”

Dr. Napolitano founded CBT/DBT Associates in New York City in 2009 and her practice opened a South Florida office after she moved her home to Miami in 2021.

The practice provides clients with research-based cognitive-behavioral treatments for a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress management, worry, relationship issues, and emotion regulation problems.

While CTB/DBT Associates helps clients in all walks of life with these issues, Dr. Napolitano also has designed a treatment approach especially for executives, attorneys, and other high functioning individuals to help them manage stress and optimize their potential.

Among strategies to help herself and her practice “reach the next level,” Dr. Napolitano has participated in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and is a current member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization South Florida (EO SOFLO).

She especially enjoys and appreciates the “collegiality” of members and says “there’s nothing like talking to other entrepreneurs and business owners who share similar stressors, challenges and experiences.”

EO SOFLO is one of the world’s largest EO chapters, with 300 business owners who share peer-to-peer experiences, support one another and foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. EO SOFLO member companies account for over $3 billion in yearly revenues and 11,000 jobs in the tri-county area.

“Lisa has a special understanding of the psychology, excitement and stress of an entrepreneur who is growing a business, but also extensive research and credentials on how to turn all that nervous energy into personal and professional success,” says Lil Roberts, EO SOFLO president and founder of Xendoo online bookkeeping and accounting platform. “We are thrilled to have her visionary insight and extensive experience as part of our Chapter of phenomenal entrepreneurs.”

In addition to leading CBT/DBT Associates, Dr. Napolitano serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine, an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital, and a Fellow and Certified Trainer/Consultant of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

She recently co-founded the Florida Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association to promote community among clinicians and the dissemination of CBT.  She serves as president of this new professional organization.

Her soon-to-be-released book “Dr. Lisa Says: Wisdom from CBT and DBT” draws on her 20 years of clinical experience to apply the wisdom of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (CBT) in daily life. “From tackling everyday problems, such as procrastination or negative mindset, to coping with more challenging life circumstances, such as the pandemic of 2020, Dr. Napolitano shows how to use CBT and DBT to build more meaningful and fulfilling lives,” according to the publisher.

She also is co-author of “Emotion Regulation In Psychotherapy: A Practitioner’s Guide” and her extensive studies and research have been published in numerous in academic and professional journals.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in political economy from Barnard College and her doctorate in clinical psychology at Fordham University. Prior to entering the field of psychology she graduated cum laude from the Cardozo School of Law.
