DIG Unveils New Restaurant In Bethesda with Grand Opening Celebration

The brand’s newest location at Bethesda Row becomes the first in Maryland

DIG, a premium fast-casual restaurant, today held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest location in Bethesda, Md. The grand opening celebration marks the brand’s first restaurant in Maryland.

To kick off the celebration, a “knife-cutting” ceremony was held, and remarks were given by DIG COO Scott Nicholson and Restaurant Association of Maryland President & CEO Marshall Weston.

“At DIG, we firmly believe cooking is a way of bringing people together and building tight-knit communities,” said DIG COO Scott Nicholson. “We’re excited to officially open our doors in Maryland and share our menu with our neighbors in the Bethesda area,” he added.

DIG prides itself on serving chef-prepared seasonal comfort food, offering a variety of scratch-made dishes including plates, salads, and desserts prepared daily by a chef and culinary team. The menu is rotated regularly to showcase the freshest vegetables of the season and it features popular items like the Classic DIG served with charred chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, charred broccoli, and brown rice, the cashew kale caesar salad, Jasper Hill Mac & Cheese, and a flourless chocolate brownie composed of a sweet potato base.

Members of the community were invited to come out to be a part of the celebration. The first 100 customers to visit the Bethesda location received free tote bags with Spindrift seltzers and a chance to win a three-month membership to Equinox Bethesda Fitness Club and services from Bella Bethesda Salon. In addition, DIG partnered with Manna Food Center, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Montgomery County, to donate 100% of opening day walk-in sales to their mission.

“Manna is excited to partner with DIG to welcome them to Montgomery County,” said Manna Food Center’s Director of Development and Communications, Mardia Dennis. “We share similar values understanding that food builds community, and we look forward to further collaboration as we share good food. At Manna Food Center, we understand the great impact access to nutritious food can have on individuals. Our collaboration with DIG demonstrates our commitment to addressing food insecurity by its root by promoting community education, community engagement, and shared responsibility with local businesses in our community,” she added.

DIG also held a “See What’s Cooking” day on Friday, February 23 to give the community a chance to preview the restaurant at no charge. Guests were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to Manna Food Center.

“With the opening of our Bethesda restaurant – and our Georgetown location that opened last year – we’re excited to continue expanding our footprint and to share DIG with more of the DMV community,” said DIG CEO Tracy Kim.

DIG is located at 4733 Elm St, Bethesda, MD 20814, and will be open Sunday – Thursday, 11am-9pm and Friday – Saturday, 11am-10pm.
