Now Open: Bagels & Co. Opens New Location in Wilton Manors

This marks the company’s second café in Broward County

Wilton Manors residents can wake up to a fresh-out-of-the-oven bagel with cream cheese and hot cup o’ joe at Bagels & Co., now open at 1015 NE 26th St. in what was previously a Starbucks. The 2,500-square-foot neighborhood café seats 15 to 20 guests inside and has additional tables on the outdoor patio.

Bagels & Co. officially celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting. The bagel shop was welcomed to town by City of Wilton Manors Mayor Scott Newton, Vice Mayor Mike Bracchi, Commissioner Chris Caputo, Commissioner Paul Rolli and Commissioner Don D’Arminio, as well as Wilton Manors Business Association Vice President Ron Falk, MBA.

Open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Bagels & Co. bakes more than a dozen varieties of Brooklyn-style bagels including French toast, cheddar habanero, everything, blueberry, cinnamon raisin and whole wheat. The quick-serve, family-friendly bagel shop showcases a large variety of eclectic cream cheese flavors such as bacon cheddar, birthday cake, black truffle, cookie monster, honey nut, sriracha scallion and vegan tofu. Special limited-edition bagel and cream cheese flavors are added throughout the year to commemorate seasons, holidays, sports teams and more.

“We are so excited to open our second location here in South Florida,” said Mike Marsh, managing partner, who grew up in Fort Lauderdale. “Something that sets us apart from the competition is we seed our bagels on the top and the bottom, leaving no blank spaces. We also offer egg everything bagels, which is rare to find in Florida, but a favorite among bagel enthusiasts from the Northeast who have migrated down here.”

Bagels & Co. brews coffee made using Costa Rican beans roasted in New York, tea and other coffee-based beverages. The affordable menu also offers high quality made-to-order sandwiches, including egg, chicken and tuna salad, grab and go items, Gluten-free options, parfaits and pastries.

Wilton Manors marks Bagels & Co.’s second Broward County location. The first opened in October in the former Hardy Park Bistro at 21 SW 7th Street in Fort Lauderdale. Bagels & Co., an entity of Philadelphia-based restaurant group Glu Hospitality, plans to continue expanding throughout Florida and Pennsylvania.

“Ever since the day we opened in Fort Lauderdale, Bagels & Co. has become a neighborhood staple, filling a void of high-quality bagels reminiscent of Brooklyn,” said Derek Gibbons, Glu Hospitality COO. “There is already so much buzz surrounding Wilton Manors, and we look forward to providing the community and being part of the neighborhood.”

Bagels & Co. supports local communities in the cities where the company has a presence, partnering with local non-profit organizations as part of the company’s philanthropic initiatives. First responders, including police, firefighters and EMTs, nurses, doctors, teachers, veterans and active military personnel who come to Bagels & Co. in uniform or present their work ID will always receive 10% off their orders.

Bagels & Co. offers catering to area businesses, hospitals, schools and residents, providing the nosh for meetings, social gatherings and parties. For more information or to place an order, visit thebagelsandco.com.
