Native Realty successfully leased the entire food-and-beverage inventory at Marina Village, the waterfront food hall/entertainment venue located within the city’s iconic Bahia Mar resort, before the project obtains its certificate of occupancy. Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls, Sushi Song and Taco Vibez are the final tenants to sign lease agreements at Marina Village.
Founded by Dan Beck, who previously worked as a seafood buyer in the restaurant industry and regularly visited Maine over the years, Mason’s brings authentic New England-style lobster rolls to South Florida. It has an existing location within Miami’s Bayside Marketplace.
Sushi Song comes to Marina Village with an established following from its nine existing sushi bar locations as far south as Key West and as far north as Deerfield Beach. Executive Chef Song’s unique sushi rolls blend traditional and progressive flavor components. The Marina Village kiosk undoubtedly will draw from Sushi Song’s popular downtown Fort Lauderdale and Oakland Park locations.
Taco Vibez is an expansion of a Pompano Beach-based taqueria concept, with craft tacos, Latin-inspired bowls and fresh burritos.
Firm CEO Jaime Sturgis and COO Kaley Tuning exclusively represented Bahia Mar’s ownership, led by developer Jimmy Tate, in leasing Marina Village. With eight distinct food-and-beverage concepts across 35,000 square feet of open-air space nestled between the Intracoastal Waterway and Fort Lauderdale Beach, Marina Village is sure to become a go-to dining and entertainment destination.
Marina Village’s food-and-beverage offerings also include:
- Blue Steel Pizza, a Detroit-style pizza concept that originated in New Jersey and has a big following
- Burgers and Shakes, which has existing locations in Hollywood Beach and North Miami Beach. The Marina Village location will offer made-to-order burgers and shakes, along with two specialty craft beers
- Fresh Garden Bowls, which provides healthy alternative food with seasonal, mostly organic and non-GMO ingredients
- Quore Gelato, a fusion of small batch gelato and world-class liquors. Malcolm Stogo, the inventor of cookies-and-cream ice cream, is behind the concept. Quaro Gelato has existing locations in the Aventura Mall, Hollywood Beach and Wynwood
- Yip, a fast-casual dim sum concept initially founded on handcrafting dumplings from scratch each morning. It has numerous locations in South Florida, including in Aventura, Doral and Wynwood
“Marina Village is a case study in the Native Realty approach to curation,” Sturgis said. “We leveraged our extensive food-and-beverage industry relationships to carefully hand-pick complementary concepts with established followings. Marina Village is about to redefine the dining scene in Fort Lauderdale Beach, and we cannot wait to be regular customers.”
Marina Village is expected to open to customers in April 2024.
The village offers ample seating and lounge areas for patrons, with a floating, stationary ferry that will be furnished with additional seating areas and feature a fully equipped DJ booth in the captain’s quarters.
“We applaud the Native Realty team for the successful lease-up of Marina Village,” Tate said. “We had interest from dozens of restaurateurs and were extremely selective about the tenants we moved forward with to ensure an ideal mix of interesting and fun concepts. The end result is a vibrant dining destination that greatly enhances the overall Bahia Mar experience and brings something new and exciting to Fort Lauderdale Beach.”
Bahia Mar’s $1 billion master development plan includes a luxury 256-key branded resort with 60 condominiums, 350 residential units in four towers, a mega-yacht marina with 245 boat slips, 87,000 square feet of commercial space including waterfront offices and restaurants, retail and captain’s quarters, a pedestrian boardwalk and green space.
