Not too many companies offer a trip to a Hawaiian resort among the “perks” of working there.
But that’s exactly what Pulse Technology, a technology company serving the IT, Managed Print Services, and other needs of businesses throughout the Midwest recently did. In February many of the company’s top-performing employees from both Illinois and Indiana were rewarded for their 2023 contributions with a weeklong getaway to Hawaii.
The trip is the latest example of the company’s “President’s Club” which provides incentive vacations every year. Last year, some of the Pulse team vacationed in Cancun, Mexico. Other destinations have included Cabo and Aruba.
This year’s Pulse Technology President’s Club recipients included Brandon Cork, Mildret Delgadillo, Nicole Miceli and Al Phillips of Illinois along with Pat Allendorf, Joelle Christie, Greg Fox, Matt Jessen, Jen Kirka, Nancy Mathena, Sandy Weiand and Dan Zimmerman all of Indiana along with President Chip Miceli and his wife Terry.
The second photo is of the entire group on the Hawaii trip. Pulse Technology team members and their spouses/significant others enjoyed a weeklong getaway as part of the company’s President’s Club which rewards the company’s top performers each year. This year’s trip included time in Honolulu at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel and also at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort
In Hawaii, the Pulse team spent the first half of the week in Honolulu staying at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. They then enjoyed a few days at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort.
The group received a welcome dinner at the Sheraton Hotel in Waikiki, took part in a Luau in Maui, and a group Valentine’s Day dinner at the Andaz Resort. While there were several group activities for the week which included a memorable and moving visit to Pearl Harbor and a whale watching and snorkeling cruise. People also had time to partake in individual-tours that included a Kualoa Ranch UTV ride (where Jurassic Park was filmed), a chance to “swim with the sharks,” an ATV ride up the mountains in Maui, and a bike ride down from the Haleakala Volcano.
Mildret Delgadillo, Administrative Manager at Pulse Technology’s Schaumburg location, said, “What I enjoyed most about the trip was enjoying spending time with coworkers in a relaxed setting. The excursions were great; Pearl Harbor by far was my favorite.”
Jen Kirka, an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Merrillville, IN said, “Visiting Pearl Harbor in Oahu was an amazing experience, learning the history of Pearl Harbor. I absolutely loved the snorkeling also – crystal clear waters, where we could see the bottom of the ocean at a 35-foot depth, with the fish swimming right up against us. Spending time with co-workers outside of the work setting and getting to know them on a different level. We all had a wonderful trip and looking forward to earning another trip down the road for President’s Club! All in all, this was a trip of a lifetime!”
Nicole Miceli, a Solutions Sales Specialist from Pulse Technology’s Schaumburg location, said, “From visiting Pearl Harbor to snorkeling with sea turtles, it’s really hard to single out a favorite moment. The President’s Club trips that I have been on are always well-organized and a nice mix of group activities, dinners and free time.”
Chip Miceli, CEO of Pulse Technology, said, “All of us at Pulse Technology are proud of the work that this group of employees did. We are fortunate to have a great team of people throughout our company and we are grateful for the hard work that everyone does each day to make our company a success.”
