The Levin Palace at MorseLife is pleased to host Four Generations of Love and Art featuring works by MorseLife Housing Board President Stanley M. Katz, his daughter the acclaimed international artist Roni Lynn Doppelt, granddaughter Stephanie Doppelt Fisher and six great-grandchildren. The showing is hosted on Wednesday, April 10 at The Levin Palace, 4850 Loring Dr. in West Palm Beach.
Katz has his own studio at his Levin Palace residence but did not pursue an interest in art while building a career as a successful attorney and developer. After much prompting, he walked into his daughter’s studio and began to sculpt.
“My first sculpture was one of her,” Katz recalls. “We would meet once a week and sculpt or paint and then have lunch. This has been an ongoing family tradition for 20 years. Her daughter Stephanie majored in art and then joined us in classes. We also took several trips to Carrara, Italy, which is famous for its marble, and sculpted all morning. They also enjoyed sculpting in Tuscany.”

Roni Lynn Doppelt has also became an artist unexpectedly after taking up painting as a hobby when she was pregnant.
“I took two paintings to a framer and he offered to buy them both,” she said. “I said they were for me but I soon made an appointment with an interior designer and showed her 15 paintings. She bought them all! I excitedly called my husband who said, ‘Start a business.’”
Since those early days, her work has been shown at the Amsterdam-Whitney International Fine Art Gallery in New York, The Pergande Gallery in Aspen, The Sandra Neustadter Gallery in Delray Beach and the Carousel Du Louvre in Paris as well as in Venice, Greece, Monaco and London. She will be exhibiting in Paris just prior to the Olympics. Her art and sculptures were on view for years on Worth Avenue at the Roni Lynn D. Gallery as well as H.T. Stuart Jewelers.
The three older generations had previously displayed their work in a joint show, Three Generations of Love and Art, that was on exhibit for six weeks at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach. The new exhibit of paintings, sculptures and sketches includes contributions from six of Katz’ great grandchildren: Leah, Joshua, Sasha, Gigi, Summer and Joey.

“Who would think that four generations could be together this way,” Roni Lynn Doppelt said. “Family is everything. It’s such a blessing to me and it’s a gift that I’m going to experience. I never thought this could happen and it’s a dream come true.”
The exhibit is open only to MorseLife residents and is one of the independent living activities featuring fun and fascinating social, cultural and educational programs. For more information, visit MorseLife.org.
