Steven Hann Presents “Complying with NPDES Industrial Stormwater Requirements” Webinar

Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin is pleased to announce that Steven A. Hann, Esq. recently spoke at a national webinar entitled “Complying with NPDES Industrial Stormwater Requirements.” His specific presentation during the webinar was “Examining Stormwater Pollutants and the Development of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs).”

His talk covered numerous legislative and regulatory topics related to water quality, including a history of the Clean Water Act, federal regulatory initiatives related to water quality, the development and implementation of TMDLs, the regulation of municipal stormwater discharges, NPDES permitting, and issues related to specific stormwater pollutants.

Steve is a frequent speaker on environmental and municipal issues impacting municipal entities in

Pennsylvania. A Principal at Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin, he focuses his practice on environmental and municipal law and chairs the firm’s Environmental Law Department. Steve is also the East Region Solicitor for the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA), covering the eastern half of Pennsylvania. In this position, he regularly interacts with PMAA staff and member authorities on a wide range of issues related to the management and operation of water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste municipal authorities in Pennsylvania.

Steve’s law practice is bolstered by his scientific and technical background. He earned a B.S. Degree in both Meteorology (Penn State) and in Geoscience (Mississippi State University “MSU”), and a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from MSU. Prior to attending Temple University School of Law, Steve was an environmental consultant for both industry and government– first employed as a meteorologist focusing on air quality and air pollution issues. Thereafter, he was a member of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (“EPA”) Field Investigation Team under the federal Superfund program, where he was engaged in various activities related to the investigation and remediation of hazardous waste sites.
