Mid-Atlantic Media Acquires Chesapeake Family Life

Mid-Atlantic Media, LLC has expanded its media holdings with the acquisition of the Annapolis, Maryland, Chesapeake Family Life publication.

Chesapeake Family Life, a regional parenting magazine covering Annapolis and its Chesapeake Bay area suburbs, was sold by Jefferson Communications, LLC and its Owner/Publisher Donna Jefferson. Terms of the deal were not released.

“We are pleased to align Chesapeake Family Life with an award-winning publishing group that will continue to provide expert, local information for parents to help them raise their children. Advertisers and sponsors will have even greater opportunities to reach parents in targeted areas. We are confident that Chesapeake Family Life will be a great addition to the Mid-Atlantic Media family of publications,” Jefferson said.

Mid-Atlantic Media CEO and Publisher Craig Burke said that the acquisition of Chesapeake Family Life is a welcomed addition to the media company’s strategic plans. “We continue to add these parenting publications as they are a nice fit within our media portfolio.  We understand the importance of the content as a resource for parents and families. We’ve become quite good at it.  This is our fifth (5) parenting publication, and we continue to be enthusiastic about this niche industry. Donna Jefferson has built a terrific business with Chesapeake Family Life, serving this community for 34 years, and we intend to keep it going strong.  We look forward to providing valuable content to families in the Chesapeake Bay area,” Burke continued, “and helping our advertisers grow their business.”
