Former NBA star Monta Ellis has opened a basketball training academy in Sandy Lake Business Center in North Dallas, snapping up 16,936 sf of turnkey hoops space for his new venture.
The Ellis Elite Basketball Academy at 989 W. Sandy Lake Rd. in Coppell holds the distinction of being the first location in the state for Missouri-based Basketball Training Systems LLC. The company has partnered with several high-profile figures like Ellis to open facilities that provide technologically advanced training for youths seeking to excel in the sport in its home state, North Carolina, California, Pennsylvania and now Texas.
Erik Blais, senior vice president of Dallas-based Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the landlord H2G Enterprises Inc. in the direct deal. Ellis’ long-term lease returns the 57,302-sf flex project to 100% occupancy.
“We had a dozen sports-related proposals for the space, including other basketball operators,” Blais says. “Ellis Elite was the perfect fit, given the operator is a well-known sports figure with 12 years in the NBA.”
Ellis was a key player for the Dallas Mavericks from 2013-15. His legendary career also included stints with the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucksand Indiana Pacers.
“It was turnkey ready. All Ellis had to do was to come in and put his brand on the space, which he immediately did,” Blais says.
NORTH TEXAS LEASES
Ellis Elite LLC has leased 16,936 sf of flex space in Sandy Lake Business Center, 989 W. Sandy Lake Rd., Coppell, from H2G Enterprises Inc. Erik Blais, senior vice president of Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the landlord in the direct deal.
Juan Hernandez Elite Roadside Assistance has leased 3,674 sf of office/warehouse space in Avion Business Center, 2155 Chenault Dr., Carrollton, from Avion Business Center LLC. Jason Finch, senior vice president of Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the landlord. Arthur Greenstein of Douglas Elliman Real Estate represented the tenant.
State of Missouri has renewed 2,070 sf of office space in Trinity Mills Professional Park, 2765 E Trinity Mills Rd., Carrollton. Jason Finch, senior vice president of Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the landlord, VP 2761 Trinity Mills Road LLC, in the direct deal.
Divine Presence Church has renewed 1,500 sf of flex space in Las Colina Tech Center, 2112 Hurd Dr., Irving. Jason Finch, senior vice president of Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, represented the landlord, Las Colinas Industrial LLC in the direct deal.
