DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Scrum Alliance, which is reaching new milestones in its efforts to reposition the value proposition of agile for anyone, is fueling its dynamic growth with the addition of Joseph J. Cahill as chief commercial officer, the first person to hold this role. Cahill will identify and forge new partnership opportunities with enterprises that are eager for agile training, as well as nurture and execute strong collaborations with channel partners to expand Scrum Alliance’s go-to-market capabilities.
Cahill brings tremendous experience to the position at Scrum Alliance, the only nonprofit provider of the world’s most recognizable scrum and agile certifications. He has over 25 years of global executive expertise where he has guided organizations across technology, real estate, manufacturing, energy and professional development sectors. Most recently Cahill was chief customer officer for Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Global Customer Group; he also led two transformations and established PMI’s sustainability narrative while he served in a variety of senior executive leadership roles, including interim chief executive officer.
Cahill says, “I’m energized to join the Scrum Alliance community because the professional credential sector recognizes it as an important leader in the future of work conversation. I’m already witnessing how partners are eager to connect with Scrum Alliance to navigate the dynamic changes in how work gets done — today and for what happens next. We’re well on our way to growing that pipeline even more; I’m confident we’re poised for greater impact.”
CEO Tristan Boutros says Cahill is a tremendous addition to Scrum Alliance’s executive leadership team, and will be integral to the organization as it implements its long-range strategic plan. “We’re thrilled to welcome Joe to our team as we embark on this next chapter for Scrum Alliance — focused on reinvention, growth, and expansion. Joe brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be instrumental in driving our efforts to forge new partnerships and unlock new avenues for revenue while increasing the overall impact of our mission,” says Boutros.
Earlier in his career Cahill was a founding member of three entrepreneurial ventures (Priton, UgMO Technologies and Gamesa Technology Corp.) and held several financial leadership roles at Unisys. He started his career at the consulting firm now known as Accenture.
Cahill earned a bachelor of science degree from Saint Joseph’s University and a master of business administration from Villanova University. He also is a Certified SAFe 6 Practice Consultant and a Certified Green Project Manager.
