Peter Connors Joins Norris McLaughlin P.A. as Partner

The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to announce that seasoned tax attorney Peter J. Connors has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office.

About Peter J. Connors

Connors concentrates his practice on cross-border transactions and tax controversy matters and is experienced with financial transactions, corporate reorganizations, renewable energy investments, controversy matters, and providing legal counsel and tax strategies for multinational clients. During his distinguished career, Connors has developed an innovative niche practice focused on the intersection of renewable energy and tax law, particularly involving carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) and hydrogen. He has served as tax counsel and advised clients regarding the application of the Internal Revenue Code Section 45Q tax credits for carbon capture, sequestration, and storage (CCUS).

Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, P.A., Connors was a partner for more than 20 years with an Am Law 100 firm serving technology, E&I funds, and financial institutions. He is the only individual to have served as president of both the American College of Tax Counsel, which he led from 2020-2021, and the International Fiscal Association’s USA Branch, which he led from 2020-2024.

Connors is a prolific author, with more than 150 published articles on tax-related subjects. and is a member of the Bloomberg BNA Tax Advisory Board. Connors has also served as the special industries editor for the Journal of Taxation since 2006. He has been ranked in Chambers USA in the New York: Tax section for nine years and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of Tax Law since 2015. Connors has also been listed in New York Super Lawyers for more than 15 years. He earned his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and received an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law.
