Auctioneer Jim Fagan and journalist Liam Martin to host
It’s countdown to Thursday, June 20th when The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities, will host its Annual Summer Soiree.
The signature event is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature a full evening of gourmet food, specialty cocktails, fine wine, craft beer, live music, and unique auction and raffle items.
Located under a magnificent tent on the beautiful shores of Webb State Park at 371 River Street in North Weymouth, the Summer Soiree brings together local businesses, community leaders, restaurants, and spirit providers, but most importantly, the individuals and families that The Arc of the South Shore has supported for the past 73 years.
The emcee for the highly anticipated soiree will be licensed auctioneer Jim Fagan, known for his quick wit and passion for The Arc of the South Shore. A life-long South Shore resident, Fagan and his wife Janice raised four children in Duxbury where he was active broadcasting sports for WATD Radio while maintaining a busy career in diagnostic imaging for Shields Health. He is a United States Air Force veteran who served two tours of duty with a bomber group stationed in Guam during the Vietnam War.
Acting as “wingman” for Fagan during the festivities will be Emmy Award-winning journalist Liam Martin, who prior to joining Newsmaker as principal and chief marketing officer in March of this year spent 15 years in television news in both the Lansing, Michigan, and Boston markets. A Boston native, Martin was a general assignment reporter for WCVB-TV, an evening anchor for WBZ-TV, and the anchor of the award-winning WBZ Mornings and the Morning Mix programs.
Proceeds from the popular event will assist The Arc in delivering programs and safe, engaging opportunities to improve the health, safety, and independence of the nearly 5,000 individuals and families the non-profit serves annually.

About the Arc of the South Shore, Inc.
The Arc of the South Shore (The Arc) was founded in 1951 when a group of individuals created a school for children with disabilities. Then, in 1967, The Arc was deeded property at Webb State Park in Weymouth; the space gave the agency a permanent home and the opportunity to expand.
