More than $100,000 was raised on June 14th when NeighborWorks® Housing Solutions (NHS; www.nhsmass.org), the leading housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, hosted its 25th Annual Mulligan Golf Tournament.
Proceeds from the tournament will support the NHS Veteran’s Fund that provides resources and assistance to veterans and their families in NHS housing. The scramble-style tournament was held at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton and attended by nearly 150 golfers.
Golfers and volunteers were treated to a catered lunch and program that detailed the work being done by NHS in support of veterans and their families.
“We are so grateful to all the golfers and sponsors who supported our Mulligan Golf Tournament,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. “Their commitment to ensuring that the veterans and their families we serve have a safe and affordable place to call home is beyond outstanding and greatly appreciated.”
Key sponsors for the 25th annual Mulligan Golf Tournament were “Tips” Sponsor Curtis Construction Co. and “Sweet Spot” Sponsors Atlantic Mechanical Contractor, Dedham Savings, Hackett Feinberg, P.C., Klein Hornig LLP, and South Shore Bank.
Additional tournament sponsors include NEI General Contracting, Davis Law Group, Daniel Dennis & Co., Colonial Federal Savings, Eastern Bank, West-Wok, Lower, LLC, and Maloney Properties. The tournament also featured a “Hole in One” Jeep, sponsored by Quirk Auto Dealers.
The tournament originated in the year 2000 with a few key NHS board members committed to raising resources to help veterans and their families facing housing insecurity and to let them know that their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Over the past 25 years, this event has grown to become one of NHS’ signature events and continues to sell out year after year. The Mulligan Tournament has raised more than $1 million since its origination.
