SouthTech Schools Promotes Joshua Wigelsworth to Principal of SouthTech Academy

SouthTech Schools proudly announced that it has promoted Joshua Wigelsworth to Principal of its high school SouthTech Academy in Boynton Beach.  Wigelsworth previous served as Director of Career Academies for SouthTech Schools, which operates both SouthTech Academy (grades 9-12) and SouthTech Prep (grades 6-8).

“When our principal Eileen Turenne decided to retire last school year, the search for our next leader was relatively easy.  Joshua has been a true leader at SouthTech since 2018 and helped mold our career academies into a program that is garnering national recognition.  He is immensely respected by both teachers and students for his high regard for fairness and hard work.  Our high school is in good hands under the guidance of Mr. Wigelsworth,” said Carla Lovett, Executive Director of SouthTech Schools.

Wigelsworth has dedicated the past 12 years to pursuing his passion for education in South Florida.  Having started his education career in the classroom, he gained valuable experience as an Intensive Reading Instructor and an Emotional and Behavioral Instructor before advancing into administrative and leadership positions.  He joined SouthTech Academy in 2018 as Assistant Principal of Career and Technical Education.  Wigelsworth earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a BA in elementary education from Saint Leo University.

“Since starting my educational journey, becoming a principal is something I’ve always aspired to be. SouthTech Academy is where I started my administrative path and I’m incredibly fortunate that I can continue as the principal. This school is a special place filled with teachers and students who care for each other and constantly strive to build positive relationships. I take great pride in this opportunity and can’t wait to see what successes the future holds,” said Wigelsworth.
