Rose Associates, Inc., the New York-based multifamily real estate developer and manager, has announced that they’ve recently appointed two individuals to the role of Managing Director. Alex Chin has been named Managing Director of Finance and Accounting, and John Nowak has been named Managing Director of Construction.
Alex Chin joins Rose from Empire State Realty Trust where he most recently acted as Vice President, Controller and Director of Finance. In that role, he managed the transactional accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of REIT properties, including 9.5M square feet of commercial space and 727 residential units. Chin has over 25 years of experience as a Controller at various real estate firms in the tri-state area. He is a graduate of Rider University and a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.

He brings extensive experience as a controller and deep knowledge of the varied financial functions related to residential real estate. At Rose, Alex will oversee accounting functions for each entity within our broad portfolio.”
John Nowak has returned to Rose as Managing Director, Construction after having acted as Director of Construction at the firm from 2009 to 2019. He is an industry veteran who has worked with Naftali and ARK / WeWork Capital Advisors, and has successfully managed construction for more than 2.4M square feet of mixed-use space. While at WeWork, John oversaw the repositioning of 424 Fifth Avenue, the former Lord & Taylor property that sold to Amazon in 2020.
