
Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that Litigation attorney Jules W. Carter was honored as LPL Financial LLC’s 2024 Diversity Champion Award winner during a ceremony at the company’s San Diego office on Aug. 14.
Carter was selected for this year’s award based on her work to highlight and expand diversity at MVA. She chairs the firm’s Black Attorney Resource Group, which supports the personal and professional development of Black lawyers at MVA. Carter also handles pro bono work that focuses on equity and social justice as she works to advance democracy and public safety in marginalized communities.
LPL Financial’s Law Firm Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Awards recognize law firms and attorneys who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to expanding opportunities for attorneys of all backgrounds and advancing DEIB in the legal profession. LPL Financial established the program in 2023 in partnership with the American Bar Association and its Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession.

In her core law practice, Carter focuses on financial regulatory compliance, helping institutional clients navigate complex regulatory environments and pursue business strategies that balance innovation with risk-awareness. She advises on various legal issues for a range of financial services providers, including globally systemic, regional, and community banks, as well as fintech companies, money services businesses, and brokerage firms. Her experience includes representing financial institution clients in response to regulatory enforcement actions and addressing the supervisory concerns of state and federal banking authorities. She also helps clients identify and manage potential regulatory or reputational risks.
