The Cook Family Charitable Fund, a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 with a mission of raising funds for families dealing with cancer, substance use and intellectual disabilities, has named Robin Arouca of Marshfield to its Board of Directors.
In this capacity, she will work with the Cook family and the board to further the Charitable Fund’s mission of helping families facing some of life’s challenges.
Arouca lived on both the South Shore of Massachusetts and in northern California, where she said a number of experiences sparked her early interest in aesthetics and creativity. As a young adult, she lived in Chicago before returning to the South Shore.
She is the founder of Ideal Design (https://www.idealdesignstudio.com/), a full-service interior design firm with a range of capabilities from multi-family housing to luxury residential homes. Her clients hail from Greater Boston, Cape Cod, and Florida. Prior to launching her own firm, she was the in-house designer for Winn Development. Her extensive hands-on experience and deep passion for design have been the cornerstones of her success.
In her spare time, she enjoys live music, gardening, and supporting the arts. She is a fan of local high school football games, where her husband Chris serves as head coach for the Marshfield Rams football team. She is also a founding board member of Building Something Special Corp., a non-profit organization that raised funds to install a video scoreboard at Marshfield High School and which plans to support the community through future grants.
She lives in Marshfield with her husband and their two dogs.
Peter A. Cook, Sr., a founder of Cook Family Charitable Fund, said, “Robin’s extensive experience in organizational management and marketing will be a tremendous asset to the Cook Family Charitable Fund. We are delighted to welcome her to our Board. Her strong background in managing complex design projects shows her ability to oversee multi-faceted initiatives and drive successful outcomes. Her background and expertise will greatly enhance the visibility and reach of our Fund’s mission.”
About The Cook Family Charitable Fund
The Cook Family Charitable Fund was established in 2006 by Peter A. Cook, Sr., and Peter A. Cook, Jr., with a goal of raising funds for families dealing with cancer, substance abuse and intellectual disabilities. Together with their friends and supporters, the fund has raised more than $1,500,000 for many individuals, and organizations, including Cape Cod Hospital, Cardinal Cushing Centers, Caron, Gavin House, and Work Inc. One of the Fund’s first initiatives was working with neurologist Elizabeth Thiele of Massachusetts General Hospital raising $350,000 necessary to fund the site, “Growing Up with Epilepsy.” Recognizing other needs in the community, the scope of the fund has expanded considerably since those early years. Offices are at 737 Webster Street, Marshfield, MA. For additional information please call 781-837-4905 or visit www.donatecookfamily.org.
