Nick’s Fish House Team Purchases Its Property

Today, Sagamore Ventures announced it has sold the Nick’s Fish House real estate to the restaurant’s long-time operators Jim Weisgerber, Eric Sugrue, and Steve Montgomery. Weisgerber, Sugrue, and Montgomery took over the business in 2015.

Popular Delaware shore restaurants including The Starboard in Dewey Beach, Bethany Blues in Bethany, and Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth are also owned by a combination Weisgerber, Sugrue, and Montgomery.

According to state tax records, the Nick’s property is a 4,623 sq. ft. building on 1.756 acres. The two-story restaurant building sits adjacent to the restaurant’s large covered deck on the Patapsco River, a carryout shed, and a parking lot.

Nick’s, which has been open since the early 2000s, was the only restaurant in Port Covington (now called Baltimore Peninsula) for many years until the new development began taking shape.

Surrounding its property on two sides is the under-construction Locke Landing development. Locke Landing sits on the 25 acres that was previously occupied by Locke Insulators. The development by 28 Walker is bringing two apartment buildings totaling 420 units; 297 townhomes; and 92 two-story condominiums within 46 four-story townhomes.
