Annual Ribs & Whiskey Celebration Returns To Marlow’s Tavern on Sept. 10

Fall Favorite Brings Special BBQ-Inspired Menu Plus Whiskey Dinner Series Every Wednesday for Five Weeks

Marlow’s Tavern, the beloved neighborhood eatery renowned for its innovative approach to classic American fare, is bringing back its infamous Ribs & Whiskey menu this fall.

Starting Sept. 10 and available for lunch and dinner daily for five weeks, the annual celebration has become a signature experience. Each location hosts a Whiskey Dinner Series every Wednesday at 7 p.m. as an additional midweek treat. These three-course dinners spotlight a different spirits partner each week. Guests enjoying the Ribs & Whiskey menu or the Whiskey Dinner Series are also entered into a drawing to win exclusive whiskey bottles, a Big Green Egg, a Yeti Cooler filled with goodies from Certified Angus Beef®, and more.

“Nothing says fall quite like tender, slow-cooked BBQ paired with a distinguished selection of whiskeys, and Marlow’s Ribs & Whiskey menu has become an icon of the season since we started the tradition back in 2009,” says executive chef, CEO and co-founder John C. Metz. “We look forward to this smokin’ good time every year and can’t wait to celebrate with our guests.”

This year’s Ribs & Whiskey menu is a “Meat & Three” celebration featuring two sauces to satisfy tangy, spicy, sweet, and smoky cravings: Jack Daniel’s Glaze and Carolina Mustard BBQ. Guests can pair these with a full or half rack of fall-off-the-bone tender ribs, brined and grilled Prestige Farms chicken breast, grilled Atlantic salmon, or slow-smoked, fork-tender Certified Angus Beef ® smoked brisket. All are served with chili-slathered corn on the cob, jicama slaw, and jalapeño corn muffins.

Marlow’s Tavern is excited to partner with Certified Angus Beef ® this year, the original brand of premium beef, created in the 1970s and raised then and now by family farmers and ranchers. The mission of Certified Angus Beef ® is simple and unchanged: to support farmers and ranchers in rural communities through a brand of premium beef that offers consumers consistent quality, thereby creating demand and adding value for Angus cattle.

Other saucy specials and rib-ticklin’ cocktails on the limited-time menu include:

  • BBQ Flatbread “The Original” – Made with the freshest ingredients in Marlow’s kitchen
  • Kickin’ Chicken Verde Soup – Tender chicken, fresh cilantro, roasted poblanos, tomatillos, fall sweet corn, and chili cream
  • Pig and Buns – Slow-roasted pulled pork with Jack Daniel’s Honey Glaze and crispy tobacco onions on a buttery sesame seed roll
  • Honey Bourbon Bread Pudding – Crème-brûlée-soaked Cuban bread and a splash of Old Forester bourbon
  • Kentucky Mule – Old Forester, lime, simple syrup, Fever Tree ginger beer with a squeezed lime wedge
  • Smoked Sazerac – a spritz of absinthe, water, Basil Hayden rye, simple syrup, Peychaud’s bitters, and expressed orange peel
  • Brown Derby – ASW Fiddler bourbon, grapefruit juice, honey syrup, Scrappy’s orange bitters, and expressed lemon peel
  • Paper Plane – Michter’s bourbon, Aperol, Cardamaro, lemon juice, simple syrup, and lemon wheel

Every Wednesday, throughout the Ribs & Whiskey celebration, the exclusive Whiskey Dinner Series spotlights a different brand, pairing their finest spirits with mouthwatering BBQ. Each three-course dinner starts at 7 p.m. and costs $75 per person. Guests are also entered to win a special reserve bottle of the featured bourbon or whiskey.
