Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth, a nonprofit organization with a mission of providing decent affordable housing for low income households in the region, is pleased to announce that ticket sales are open for their Hearts & Hammers Gala, taking place on Friday, November 1, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Jones River Trading Company, 42 Elm Street in Kingston.
For over 26 years, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth has provided hope and self-reliance for families in need of a decent, affordable place to call home. Habitat has helped to break the cycle of poverty housing, and the organization’s volunteer corps of more than 450 people is at the heart of HFHGP’s mission, providing more than 5,000 hours of labor for each Habitat home.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit HFHGP’s work in building new affordable homes for low-income families and making critical repairs and renovations on existing homes in its service area, which includes Plymouth, Carver, Kingston, Middleboro, Lakeville and Plympton. HFHGP volunteers work alongside partner families, who also put in “sweat equity” hours building their own homes.
With the completion and dedication of one home earlier this summer, and a new home in the building and family selection process, there is much to celebrate at this year’s gala, which will also feature live music, light dinner fare and desserts, silent and live auctions, and special guest remarks.
“Our gala celebrates the joy, progress, and impact of our home builds that result from all the efforts of our supporters, volunteers, and community members,” said Amy Belmore, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth. “We look forward to sharing this joy with all our friends on November 1.”
Tickets are currently available at the Early Bird Rate of $100 each if purchased by September 22, and $125 after that date. Sponsorship levels start at $150 and offer many benefits for local businesses. For ticket or sponsor information, please visit www.givebutter.com/hfhgala24.
