NCIA is thrilled to announce the appointment of DJ Vail as our new Chief Financial Officer. With an extensive background in finance, taxation, and accounting, DJ Vail brings a wealth of experience and expertise to NCIA.
Before joining NCIA, DJ served as the Vice President of Tax and Business Licenses and Corporate Controller at Erickson Senior Living, where he worked for over a decade. In this role, DJ oversaw all forms of taxation, corporate overhead budgeting, and accounting and financial matters at the company level. He successfully managed the implementation of critical financial systems, tax planning initiatives, and employee engagement programs, significantly contributing to the organization’s financial integrity and operational efficiency.

In his prior roles, DJ also held positions as Corporate Controller and financial expert in various organizations, such as Education Affiliates, Sinclair Broadcast Group, and Arthur Andersen. His responsibilities spanned overseeing financial reporting, managing SEC compliance, and directing tax planning strategies, where he consistently demonstrated his ability to drive financial growth and stability.
DJ earned his MBA in finance from the University of Maryland and his BS degree in accounting from the University of Delaware. His comprehensive knowledge of finance, taxation, and accounting, coupled with his leadership skills, make him an invaluable asset to the NCIA team.
DJ is also an active participant in his community, serving as a youth sports coach in the Carroll Manor Rec Council for various sports all throughout the year. He makes serving others a priority in all facets of his life.
