Project Management Advisors, Inc. (PMA), a leading provider of construction, project management and owners’ representative services, is proud to announce that Rhonda Rasmussen has joined the firm as the newest Project Director on the PMA Hospitality Sector team. Over the last three years, PMA’s Hospitality team has achieved tremendous success and grown to be one of the company’s largest and most active sectors, with more growth projected through 2025.
According to data from Mordor Intelligence, “the U.S. hospitality market is estimated to be $235.96B in 2024 and is expected to reach $299.29B by 2029,” and Rasmussen’s appointment demonstrates the firm’s dedication to the hospitality sector both nationally and in the western U.S region. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rasmussen will oversee the firm’s efforts in expanding its presence in the western region, with a focus on luxury hotel and resort projects in markets such as California, Hawaii, Colorado, and Nevada.
“Rhonda brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and an extensive network that will allow us to further expand our footprint in the hospitality sector,” said Mark Knott, Vice President & Hospitality Sector Lead at PMA. “We are unique in that our senior hospitality leaders, including Rhonda, are directly involved in projects from start to finish. Rhonda’s experience will have a direct impact for our hospitality clients, particularly on the West Coast.
Rhonda Rasmussen: “Nobody builds a hotel by themselves, so let’s do it together.”
Based in San Diego, Rasmussen will play a pivotal role in PMA’s expansion in key markets, such as Los Angeles, which is poised for growth given the city’s role as host to several upcoming large-scale events, including the 2028 Olympics, the FIFA World Cup in 2026, and the development around the LA Convention Center.
With over 25 years in hospitality design and development, Rasmussen has been recognized for her leadership and innovative designs, earning accolades such as the ASID Award of Design Excellence and the Hospitality Design Award. In her new role at PMA, she will work with Knott to achieve the firm’s 2025 revenue goals, grow the West Coast project pipeline, and mentor staff on hospitality development. Before joining PMA, she was Director of Interior Design at T2 Development, overseeing high-profile hotel projects.
“I’m excited to join PMA, a company with core values that truly align with my passion for hospitality,” said Rasmussen. “There is incredible potential in the U.S. western region, and my goal is to leverage PMA’s strong foundation to further our exposure to key clients in the area. We’ll expand our portfolio with major projects that push us to deliver the best results for our clients. My favorite saying is ‘Nobody builds a hotel by themselves, so let’s do it together,’ and I look forward to fostering that collaborative spirit here at PMA.”
