Cowtown Angels Launches Pre-Seed Funding Group for Early-Stage Startups in Fort Worth

Cowtown Angels, a program within TechFW, has established Cowtown Seed, a funding group focused on supporting early-stage startups and providing critical pre-seed opportunities for founders in Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

Once selected, the funded startups will be invited and encouraged to participate in TechFW’s ThinkLab program, where they will benefit from 12 weeks of structured educational resources as part of TechFW’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs.

Ryan Brown, CEO of TechFW, emphasized the importance of this initiative in addressing a gap within the local investment community:

“We’ve identified a missed opportunity to engage early-stage founders at the crucial point early in their journey: the initial funding,” Brown said “This new, pre-seed fund gives us the chance to further our mission and highlight TechFW’s success in preparing founders to launch their businesses. It’s a clear demonstration of how our investment community is aligning with the entrepreneurial efforts happening at TechFW.”

The funding group is designed to strengthen the connection between investors and early-stage entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on mentorship. Interested investors are encouraged to become members of Cowtown Angels and participate in the monthly pitch sessions, which take place on the third Thursday of each month from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Steelhead Capital. Their guidance and support will be instrumental in shaping the future of Fort Worth’s startup ecosystem.

TechFW is a 501(c)3 organization that provides the resources, support and community to transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses. With programs tailored to every stage of the entrepreneurial journey, it fuels economic growth and drives lasting change in north Texas and beyond.
