The first-to-market Mexican-inspired restaurant and tequila bar is now open in Atlanta’s Perimeter
Guests of High Street’s newest restaurant, Agave Bandido, are greeted with vibrant murals influenced by Mexican culture, including references to the Day of the Dead celebration and Mayahuel, the Mayan goddess of agave. The extraordinary colors match the flavors of the Mexican-inspired restaurant and tequila bar, which also features a hidden speakeasy with nods to the goddess. High Street is Agave Bandido’s first location outside of Florida, bringing a distinctive experience to Perimeter’s most exciting new mixed-use destination.
“When scouting locations for our next restaurant, High Street stood out because of its central location, brand alignment with other tenants and soon-to-come programming that brings the community together,” said Matt Faul, co-owner of Agave Bandido. “We wanted to bring an experience that is typically found in urban settings to Atlanta’s suburbs. Agave Bandido makes every meal a memorable one and we have enjoyed seeing the community embrace this new concept.”
The exterior of Agave Bandido is adorned with larger-than-life murals by Miami-based artist Ruben Ubiera. Done entirely by hand with cans of spray paint, the murals also carry to the interior, covering nearly every wall. Ubiera worked hand-in-hand with interior designer Pam Manhas to bring the restaurant to life. Guests can find skulls and rich, vibrant colors throughout the space, which seats more than 350 guests.
Agave Bandido’s menu features an array of authentic Mexican dishes crafted with the freshest ingredients, including everything from classic street tacos and enchiladas to specialty items like the signature Bandido Taco, Churrasco Chimichurri and table-side guacamole. To complement the cuisine, Agave Bandido offers a wide selection of premium tequilas and handcrafted cocktails, including its famous margaritas and a curated collection of mezcal. Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Agave Bandido hosts a happy hour with promotional drinks and food, including $4 tacos.
The restaurant’s upstairs Maya SpeakTiki can be found through a hidden door guarded by Mayahuel. The tiki-inspired speakeasy transports guests to a tropical oasis with hidden treasures at every turn. Open Wednesday through Saturday by reservation only, the space seats approximately 80 people and is also available to rent for private events.
“At High Street, you’re not just shopping at a store or eating at a restaurant – you’re getting an immersive community experience,” said Ian Ward, Senior Vice President at GID, the developer of High Street. “Each one of our tenants brings something unique to the Perimeter and we are thrilled to see their spaces come alive.”
In addition to Agave Bandido, open restaurants and retailers at High Street include South African fast-casual restaurant Nando’s, ice cream spot Ben & Jerry’s, skincare spa Skin Spirit, globally-inspired taco restaurant Velvet Taco and luxury menswear store Allen Edmonds. Puttshack will have a grand opening celebration on Nov. 6. Other exciting concepts coming to High Street include the Italian Rosetta Bakery, The NOW Massage, coastal-inspired The Hampton Social, nail salon Sugarcoat, sushi restaurant Cuddlefish and eatertainment concept Jaguar Bolera. The mixed-use destination also has more than 200 residents living on site and is actively leasing the Class A office space overlooking the Plaza.
Agave Bandido is located next to Nando’s and open at 11 a.m. seven days a week with varying closing times. To learn more, visit agavebandido.com.
