The Highlands School Appoints Greg Derwart and David Eusanio to Board

The Board of Directors Welcome Greg Derwart and David Eusanio

The Highlands School, a K-8 independent school dedicated to educating students with learning differences and bridging achievement gaps, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members Greg Derwart and David Eusanio.

As board members, Derwart and Eusanio will contribute their expertise and join a dedicated team of volunteers committed to upholding the school’s mission while strategically guiding its long-term sustainability.

Their diverse expertise and shared passion for our mission will strengthen our community and enhance the educational experience for every student. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower our learners to realize their fullest potential,” said Head of School Claudia Nachtigal.

Greg Derwart is vice president, strategy, and experience officer at Harford Bank. At Harford Bank, Derwart drives strategic initiatives, enhances the customer experience, and contributes to the bank’s growth trajectory.  He has over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors.

He is a Harford County native and is active in several community and professional organizations, including the Bel Air Rotary Club, the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, the Al Cesky Scholarship Fund, and the Community Foundation of Harford County.

David Eusanio is a proven senior operations leader with the world leader in the package delivery business. Throughout his career within United Parcel Service (UPS), he maximized efficiency across the supply chain. Currently, Eusanio manages his entrepreneurial investments in car washes, apartments, and real estate.

He has served on numerous boards focused on children and education like Camp Aldersgate, Arkansas Independent Colleges and Universities, and Arkansas Baptist College Sports. He currently serves on the Makena Children’s Foundation board and is the board chair for the Membership Committee at Maryland Golf and Country Clubs.

Founded in 1996, The Highlands School was originally located in Street, Maryland. In 2007, The Highlands School moved to a beautiful 18-acre campus in Bel Air, Maryland that was once home to the Preakness-winning racehorse Deputed Testamony.
