The 28,000-square-foot facility aims to enhance healthcare accessibility for aging residents within The Villages Community
Ryan Companies US, Inc., today announces the completion and opening of The Advanced Surgery Center at Brownwood, a 28,000-square-foot facility designed to increase access to healthcare for the community. Ryan served as the design-build contractor for the joint venture project between Surgery Partners and Value Health. Surgery Partners Ambulatory Center is set to be operational this month.
The Surgery Partners Ambulatory Surgery Center will support The Villages’ aging demographic, where the median age is 73.4 according to the latest Census data, and provide access to healthcare services including cardiology, urology, orthopedics, gynecology, gastroenterology, podiatry and more.
As the interior designer, Ryan integrated three distinct brands into a cohesive aesthetic. A series of regulatory challenges required the development team to deploy creative solutions, which included splitting the occupancy within the suite while maintaining operations in adjacent areas. By remaining resourceful and nimble, Ryan was able to skillfully navigate complex obstacles and ensure minimal disruption in an active healthcare facility.
“We employed creative and strategic solutions throughout this project to create a warm and hospitable atmosphere with modern clinical elements, all while The Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood remained operational and continued to serve the neighborhood,” said Steve Stecker, Senior Vice President of Healthcare Project Development at Ryan Companies. “This completion ushers in an enhanced level of healthcare infrastructure for The Villages that addresses the specific needs of this community.”
The project began construction in July 2023 and was delivered ahead of schedule this Fall. Surgery Partners Ambulatory Surgery Center is Ryan’s eighth project delivered with Surgery Partners and an extension of the long-standing relationship that has led to the improvement of 170,000 square feet of ambulatory surgery centers across seven states, including Surgery Partners Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center, St. Peters Surgery Center and Clinic and more.
