American Legion Post 76 Jamaica Plain Hosted Veterans Town Hall Featuring Veterans Services Secretary Jon Santiago, State Representative Bill MacGregor And Others

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, American Legion Post 76 Jamaica Plain hosted a Veterans Town Hall with Veterans’ Services Secretary Jon Santiago, State Representative Bill MacGregor and other local and regional dignitaries to discuss various state supportive services and issues impacting veterans throughout the Commonwealth, including the recently-signed HERO Act. The HERO ACT is a transformative piece of legislation that honors the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ and the state’s commitment to servicemembers and veterans by expanding their benefits, ensuring greater inclusivity and modernizing veterans’ services. Over 80 Boston-based veterans attended the event and chatted with the many policymakers in attendance, which included:
