Aaron’s Estate Sales, one of the largest privately-owned estate sale companies in the country, is proud to announce an exclusive estate sale for one of Detroit’s architectural masterpieces: the Edward F. Fisher Mansion, located at 892 W Boston in the esteemed Boston-Edison Historic District.
Designed by Richard H. Marr, the architect known as the “Architect of Midwest Millionaires,” this 10,000-square-foot renaissance revival estate offers a rare glimpse into the opulent legacy of the Fisher family, known for their influential role in the early automotive industry.
Constructed in the early 20th century for Edward F. Fisher, General Manager of Fisher Body and Director of General Motors, this residence is the smallest but most elaborate of the Fisher mansions. It showcases the era’s luxurious lifestyle and intricate craftsmanship that Detroit’s elite once enjoyed.
The mansion’s estate sale, set to open to the public on October 31, 2024, features an impressive array of original paintings, antique furniture, vintage décor, collectibles, and designer pieces. The sale highlights a custom dining table by renowned Detroit glass artist Ron Slater, which seats up to 18, an elegant grand piano, and outdoor wrought iron patio furniture that completes the estate’s opulent charm. With items that have preserved the Fisher family’s legacy, this estate sale provides collectors and history enthusiasts a unique opportunity to own a piece of Detroit’s past.
“This sale consists of high-quality fine furnishings and art in wonderful condition. There is also an amazing vintage clothing collection that is not to be missed,” said Aaron Siepierski, Founder and CEO of Aaron’s Estate Sales. “Each piece tells a story from Detroit’s past, and it’s incredibly exciting to share these historic treasures with the public. The Fisher Mansion is not just a home; it’s a piece of Detroit history, and we’re honored to handle such a remarkable estate.”
A Detroit News article from December of 2014, shared that the Edward F. Fisher Mansion served as a private residence for Fisher and his family until the 1950s, after which it was donated to the Archdiocese of Detroit, housing Jesuit priests for nearly two decades. It returned to private ownership in the 1970s, meticulously maintained by successive owners who preserved its distinctive character and historical integrity.
Siepierski added, “From the classic furniture to the unique custom pieces and period artifacts, there is something here for everyone. Whether you’re a collector, decorator, or history buff, this sale offers a chance to step into Detroit’s past and take home a part of its legacy.”
The estate sale will run from October 31 through November 3, 2024, with sale hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Early access registration is available on the Aaron’s Estate Sales website, allowing guests a chance to explore the mansion and its offerings before general entry.
