New location represents the fifth for pizzeria in Baltimore City
Angeli’s Pizzeria Bar, a Baltimore-based family-owned restaurant group is assuming the former space occupied by Noona’s in The Fitzgerald, a 275-unit multifamily community owned and managed by MCB Real Estate. The pizzeria expects to open its fifth location in Baltimore City, and second in the MCB Real Estate portfolio, at the 11-story residential project located at 1201 W. Mt. Royal Avenue in December.
According to Juniet Ozturk, who owns and manages the restaurant group together with his brother Mert, Angeli’s Pizzeria Bar purchased the lease from Noona’s because they “recognized the outstanding opportunity to establish a new location within a high-profile residential community and expand the brand further in Baltimore City.” He mentioned The Fitzgerald’s dedicated audience of in-place residents and the proximity to two colleges as major factors in the decision.
“In essence, we purchased the operations of Noona’s and view this as the chance to provide a new and well-established restaurant option to the local community, rather than terming this a restaurant closure,” Ozturk said. “We have an incredible and loyal consumer following, a tremendous relationship with MCB Real Estate due to our location in Harborplace, and are proceeding with this new location with full confidence. Bolton Hill is extremely well-known throughout the Baltimore area and beyond, and the nearby demographics and steady stream of visitors and college students are more than enough to sustain us.”

The restaurant is recognized for its signature “build-your-own” New York-style pizza, including varieties topped with chicken pesto or marinated chicken breast, as well as house-marinated wings, calzones, and salads. Angeli’s Pizzeria Bar also offers meatball, Italian, chicken, grilled cheese, and portabella mushroom sandwiches.
Additional family members Erdi and Aybike Tasbas are also involved in the ownership and management of the restaurant. Angeli’s Pizzeria Bar also operates locations in Little Italy, Federal Hill, and Govans, and maintains a pop-up and event space in Harborplace.
The Fitzgerald features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment units, and is equipped with a resident lounge, private theater, 25,000 square feet of retail space and a 1,250-space parking garage. Penn Station, the University of Baltimore, and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) are within close proximity.
