The historic, award-winning Lord Baltimore Hotel will usher in the holiday season with its annual Couture Tree Competition and display launching Sunday, December 1st and the return of The Holiday Shoppe, an artisan’s handcrafted and gift boutique opening Friday, November 29th.
“We are thrilled to once again welcome the magic of the season to the Lord Baltimore Hotel,” said Sheila Wiegandt, managing director. “From the stunning couture trees to the delightful finds at The Holiday Shoppe and the cozy ambiance of LB Bistro and Bakery, we invite everyone to experience the warmth and wonder of the holidays with us.”
The Holiday Shoppe, a boutique for unique holiday gifts presented by Fleurtopia, a local, women – owned small business, will be open Thursday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., beginning December 1st through December 22nd. Local artists, creators, and businesses will offer handcrafted jewelry, vintage clothing and collectibles, repurposed furniture, original art, accessories, locally made sweets, herb infused oils and vinegars, and more on the hotel’s mezzanine level.
Several specialty nights are also planned, all from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting with a “Sip & Shop” featuring Lolea wines on Friday, December 6th. The following week brings “Bourbon & Baubles,” a sampling and shopping event with bourbon and additional whiskeys from Michters on Thursday, December 12th and a “Men’s Shopping Night” on Saturday, December 21st. The Shoppe will stay open late on Saturday, December 7th for “A Night of 100 Elvises.”
The Couture Tree Competition will showcase over 25 exquisitely designed trees, crafted by both seasoned and emerging designers, on display from December 1 through the end of the year. Designers this year include local businesses, nonprofits, and individual artists, with past winners returning to compete. During a private holiday gathering, guests will vote on the top designs in two categories: one for individual or business submissions and one for nonprofit entries. Winning designers will receive a $500 prize.
