Gourmet cake and coffee business opens third location in Center City Philadelphia
Silverstein Properties, a national real estate investment, development and management firm, and Arden Group, a vertically integrated real estate investment management firm, today announced that Cake & Joe signed a five-year lease to occupy a 1,124-square-foot retail space at 1735 Market Street.
The gourmet cake, coffee, & beverage shop will open its third location on the ground floor of 1735 Market Street facing the garden. A women-owned business, Cake & Joe was launched in Philadelphia in 2020 by Sarah Qi and Trista Tang, who became best friends growing up in Beijing.
“Our dream was to start a business together,” said Sarah Qi. “We are delighted to bring our delicious offerings, artistic desserts, and premium coffee service to 1735 Market Street.”
Cake & Joe will offer breakfast and lunch daily as well as catering. The company’s other locations are in Pennsport and Fishtown.

1735 Market Street recently underwent renovations led by Silverstein Properties and Arden Group, which involved redesigning the building’s lobby, front entrance, amenity spaces, common areas and concourse. The new amenities floor features billiards, longboard, a bar, and a wine locker. The building’s entire 7th floor is also home to a mural installation by ten local Philadelphia artists that celebrates the city’s unique history, culture and diversity through artwork.
