CCI Real Estate, a real estate investment company centered on missional impact and community transformation, announced today that it has received the rezoning approval to move forward with a half-acre, mixed-use project on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. The project is in partnership with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board (GBMB) and will replace the existing Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) location at Georgia Tech.
CCI plans to build a mixed-use community on the site of the current BCM at 740 Techwood Drive, which will offer 55 one- and two-bedroom residences, upgraded ministry facilities, an on-site coffee house, and additional gathering spaces. The building will be 64,000 square feet and five floors, including 12,000 square feet of student community space at the street level.
“This rezoning approval is a significant milestone in CCI’s mission to bring integrated, community-driven developments to GBMB’s locations on campuses across Georgia,” said Jeff Warwick, CEO at CCI. “BCM has served Georgia Tech for over three-quarters of a century, and now it will get a well-deserved upgrade to usher in a new chapter of growth and ministry in Atlanta. By developing a vibrant, mixed-use community, we aim to support BCM’s long-standing impact on students at Georgia Tech while also providing much-needed student housing in a prime location on campus.”
BCM has been active on Georgia Tech’s campus for over 75 years, and this project will further elevate BCM’s impact on the community for years to come, while enhancing the residential offerings in the surrounding area in proximity to Bobby Dodd Stadium. Plans call for the start of construction in Summer 2025 and opening expected in Summer 2027.
CCI is also redeveloping the BCMs at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. These projects include the redevelopment of irreplaceable on-campus sites into multi-story developments to provide residential units, support retail, and dynamic gathering spaces for students, faculty, and visitors.
