Silverstein Properties to Launch “Art on the Avenue” in Downtown Bellevue

Silverstein’s Pop-Up Contemporary Art Galleries to Open November 29th in Conjunction with “Snowflake Lane” Holiday Parade

Adding to the dazzling winter magic of Snowflake Lane, Bellevue’s annual holiday parade, New York-based real estate developer Silverstein Properties is proud to introduce “Art on the Avenue,” a collection of street-level pop-up contemporary art galleries at Avenue Bellevue, an expansive downtown Bellevue development project and community.

The art displays, featuring work of over 25 artists in six separate storefronts, will be open to the public, by appointment, from November 29, 2024, through March 31, 2025.

Avenue Bellevue, a luxury mixed-use development located at 850 Avenue Square Northeast, is owned and operated by Silverstein Capital Partners, an affiliate of Silverstein Properties. Among other major placemaking projects, Silverstein Properties is best known for its success in rebuilding the World Trade Center in New York City after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Silverstein’s efforts helped draw leading global businesses, retail, and arts and culture back to historic lower Manhattan.

“I’ve always believed that art adds an exciting dimension to our lives and everything we do,” said Larry A. Silverstein, founder and Chairman of Silverstein Properties. “It expands our thinking and offers a glimpse into the creative minds of the artists. This installation is a terrific way to bring life and creativity to Avenue Bellevue and showcase the work of a group of incredibly talented artists.”

“Art on the Avenue” will feature paintings, photography, and sculptures including street art, abstract art, documentary photography, and other contemporary styles by an acclaimed array of local, national, and international artists. The works on view have been curated by Silverstein Properties and its Silver Art Projects, a non-profit artist residency program at New York’s World Trade Center. Silver Art supports, incubates, and accelerates the careers of emerging artists. Appointments to visit the galleries can be made through www.avenue.art.

Local artists interested in showing and selling their work in the galleries are encouraged to contact Silverstein Properties at art@silvprop.com.

“Art on the Avenue” will formally open with a special cocktail reception in the lobby of the Intercontinental Bellevue at the Avenue on Friday, November 29 from 5:00-8:00pm. Those interested should RSVP to art@silvprop.com.

Art on the Avenue was curated by Silverstein’s Chief Marketing Officer Dara McQuillan, along with NYC Culture Club founders Parker and Clayton Calvert. “We are very excited to introduce some of our World Trade Center artists to Bellevue, and connect with local artists and supporters of the arts,” said Mr. McQuillan. “This initiative, and the many others we support, extend our company’s history of supporting art and artists, and ensures they remain an integral part of the fabric of our communities.”
