Generosity Shines as Pet Supermarket Raises Over $460,000 for the return of its nationwide ‘Lend A Paw’ fundraiser giving back to local rescues and shelters
Pet Supermarket, a specialty pet supply retailer with more than 225 locations across the U.S. Southeast, is proud to announce the success of its annual Lend A Paw: Supporting Dogs, Inc. fundraiser. This year, the campaign raised an impressive $460,453, surpassing last year’s total of $250,000 and exceeding expectations across all locations.
Pet Supermarket raised a total of $460,453 through their in-store fundraising efforts. The top five performing stores in donations were:
- Store #120, Riverside, FL: $7,906
- Store #169, Merritt Island, FL: $7,005
- Store #159, South Lakeland, FL: $5,543
- Store #245, Greensboro, NC: $5,282
- Store #166, Mt. Dora, FL: $5,041
The funds will support the mission of Dogs, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives by breeding, raising, and training elite guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs for individuals with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children facing significant challenges.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Dogs, Inc. and contribute to the extraordinary work they’re doing in our communities,” said Rich Tannenbaum, CEO of Pet Supermarket. “Our team is passionate about pets and the profound impact they have on our lives. By hosting this fundraiser, we not only support service dogs, but also raise awareness for an organization that is making a life-changing difference for people in need.”
The Lend A Paw fundraiser took place from August 29 to October 31, aligning with National Service Dog Awareness Month in September. During the eight-week campaign, customers at all Pet Supermarket locations were encouraged to donate at checkout, with $5 donations earning a complimentary bag of Fromm Crunchy Os treats. For those who donated $6, they were also entered into a special drawing to win the opportunity to name a Dogs, Inc. puppy. One lucky customer was selected as the winner and will have the honor of naming a new puppy in the program.
The campaign also included an exciting incentive for Pet Supermarket’s store teams. In recognition of their hard work and dedication, Dogs, Inc. offered the top fundraising store a trip to its global campus, where the team could see firsthand the impact of their efforts. Store #120, Riverside, FL was the top shop for this year’s campaign, with Gary Lodes, the store manager, saying, “We are so proud to have raised the most funds for such a great cause. Our team worked hard to spread awareness and encourage donations, and we’re excited to see how our efforts will help change lives.”
Pet Supermarket would like to thank all of its customers, team members, and partners, for their generosity and support in making this year’s Lend A Paw campaign a record-breaking success. The funds raised will directly benefit Dogs, Inc. and its mission to provide life-changing service dogs to individuals in need.
