Prior to joining Pashman Stein, Spencer spent nearly two decades leading her own boutique litigation firm, where she gained national recognition as an outstanding trial lawyer.
Spencer is an accomplished trial and appellate attorney, known for her combination of practical insight and strategic acumen developed over years of experience in courtrooms, corporate boardrooms, and high-profile media situations. She is recognized in Band 3 of the New Jersey Litigation: White Collar Crime & Government Investigations table in the 2024 edition of Chambers USA.

Spencer represents clients in complex civil, criminal, and regulatory cases, guiding both businesses and individuals through high-stakes issues. Additionally, she conducts internal investigations for clients in connection with potential or alleged insider misconduct, helping clients identify issues and navigate sensitive compliance or corporate governance situations with discretion.

Spencer has argued matters of first impression before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division, establishing herself as a formidable presence in challenging legal matters. She has represented individuals in high-profile, newsworthy cases, including matters involving complex and sensitive scenarios at trial.
Her extensive experience includes defending clients in Federal and State criminal cases involving healthcare fraud, mortgage fraud, wire fraud, homicide, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, vehicular homicide, and assault. She has also litigated numerous Title IX cases and matters involving the Division of Child Protection & Permanency.
Spencer is deeply committed to advancing the legal profession and to community service. She is frequently invited to speak to members of the legal community, the judiciary and law students on critical issues impacting the law and trial practice. Spencer serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court Disciplinary Review Board and is a board member of the Seton Hall University School of Law Board of Visitors. She is also a Trustee for the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New Jersey Chapter, and a founding member of both the New Jersey Chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association and the Women’s Leadership Advisory Committee at Seton Hall University School of Law. Additionally, she is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association.
Earlier in her career, Spencer was an Assistant Prosecutor in Union County, New Jersey. Spencer earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from Boston College.
