LOS ANGELES — (BUSINESS WIRE) — Goldenvoice, the premier California music promoter and subsidiary of AEG Presents, is thrilled to announce Lea Swanson has been named Vice President of Talent. In this new role, Swanson will serve as sole talent buyer for the Mountain Winery, as well as contributing talent buyer for multiple venues in LA, primarily the Peacock Theater, the Shrine Auditorium, and various open rooms including the Greek Theater and Dolby Theatre. She will also book one-off shows in neighboring California markets including Irvine, Ontario, Bakersfield and Fresno as well as Hawaii. Swanson will continue to be based in San Diego and report to Chief Operating Officer, Goldenvoice, Melissa Ormond.
“It is exciting to be offered an opportunity to continue to grow this far into my career. After over 17 years with AEG Presents in my home market of San Diego and supporting numerous casino clients, I feel fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to step into this elevated role,” said Swanson, “A year after accepting the lead booking role at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, having the chance to grow and promote shows in one of the primary music markets in North America was an opportunity I had to take. I’m enthusiastic about what’s ahead and look forward to contributing to the continued success in all our markets.”
Added Ormond: “Lea’s track record speaks for itself. Her breadth of experience, combined with her innate ability to know what will resonate with audiences across a variety of different venues and genres, make her uniquely qualified for this position. I’m thrilled to elevate Lea to this new role, and I’m looking forward to working even more closely with her.”
Lea Swanson’s music career started in 1999 at Viejas Casino as part of the team that developed the 1,500-capacity Viejas Concerts in the Park venue. This experience prepared her for multiple roles in the small San Diego office, including Director of Finance as well as talent buying. Over the past two and a half decades, she has booked content from small 500-seat clubs to full size arenas in multiple markets.
In addition to working as a talent buyer for AEG San Diego shows in a number of venues including the Pechanga Arena, San Diego Civic Theatre, Balboa Theatre, The Sound, and the sought after location at The Rady Shell, she is also one of the two buyers servicing the Humphreys Concerts by the Bay account in San Diego, booking 65 to 90 shows per season for the past 17 years.
Lea was the lead buyer for Silver Legacy Casino in Reno, NV for 6 years (2015 to the end of 2020), booking a wide variety of content ranging from classic rock to comedy, world music, adult contemporary, pop, Latin, and more in their 3 venues. She also worked closely with John Wojas and Susan Rosenbluth for 6 years (2013-2018) as one of the buyers on the San Manuel Casino (now Yaamava’) account, located in Highland, CA. Currently she is one of the buyers servicing the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, CA to provide content for their two on-property venues, the Pechanga Theater and The Summit.
In 2023, Lea accepted the lead talent buyer position at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA and in her first year promoted a whopping 78 shows & special events in one of their most successful seasons to date.
