Culina Health, a Hoboken, NJ-based provider of a digital platform for clinical nutrition care, raised $7.9M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Healthworx, with participation from Rethink Impact, Collab Capital, Collide Capital, Vamos Ventures, Tensility Venture Partners, Cake Ventures, and GW Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its offerings to support dietitians and patients, implement new AI platforms to improve care efficiency, and enhance its leadership with key hires.
Co-founded by registered dietitians Vanessa Rissetto and Tamar Samuels in 2020, Culina Health pairs patients with registered dietitians for personalized, one-on-one virtual nutrition care that is science-based, inclusive, and culturally competent, while coordinating care with referring providers to benefit patients. It offer non-judgmental, sustainable, and multilingual support that honors all patient body sizes and backgrounds.
To date, the team of 90+ registered dietitians has delivered over 80,000 telehealth clinical nutrition sessions. The company partners with major insurers and Medicare, making its digital platform available to 70 percent of the U.S. population.
