Oxford Bank Donates $150,000 and 750 Volunteer Hours to Local Non-Profits in 2024 to Commemorate 140th Year

As the oldest commercial bank in Oakland County, Michigan, Oxford Bank  has persevered through two world wars, the Great Depression, and numerous banking crises to expand and serve communities throughout Southeast Michigan since 1884. In commemoration of its 140th anniversary, Oxford Bank furthered its commitment of giving back with the bank and its team members donating $150,000 and 750 volunteer hours to local charities and non-profits across the state in 2024.

The $150,000 in Oxford Bank 2024 contributions went to various community and charitable events, local school programs, and scholarships, with $25,000 supporting GreenPath Financial, which enables Oxford Bank to reinvest in the community with financial education and debt management resources.

Oxford Bank team members – from C-suite to bank tellers – donated a total of 750 hours at  various local organizations by driving nails, filling food donation boxes, assisting the elderly, educating youth, and raising money for disadvantaged kids and the homeless.

Some of the organizations Oxford Bank supported with dollars and manhours in 2024 include Food Gatherers, Habitat for Humanity Michigan, Covenant House Michigan, local chambers and business development districts, community schools, and more.

Oxford Bank’s Chief Operating Officer Nancy Rosentrater, who joined Oxford Bank President and CEO David Lamb and other bank leadership members at the Covenant House Michigan Sleep Out! Fundraiser last month, spending the night outside to raise funds and awareness to combat homelessness, says this type of giving back is part of Oxford Bank’s culture.

“At Oxford Bank, we are committed to ‘delivering value for life’ and that doesn’t just mean  offering a great experience or creatively solving needs for customers. It also means supporting solutions to critical challenges our community – every community – faces whether its homelessness, lack of affordable housing, and limited resources for education,” Rosentrater says. “Our team feels strongly that we have a role in supporting the local communities in which we live and work because pulling together ensures everyone thrives.”

The past year also brought growth to Oxford Bank. It realized total deposits of almost $748 million as of last September, an increase from roughly $692 million over the year prior. Oxford Bank loans during the same period increased by $68.37 million or about 13% – a result of increases in traditional commercial loans of $49.0 million, as well as the growth in Oxford Commercial Finance (OCF) of $20.0 million.

Oxford Bank President and CEO David Lamb says, “It’s our honor to serve Southeast Michigan as it continues to flourish. I’m so proud of our team and their commitment to the local community, as well as our role in helping small businesses start and grow. Our increase in commercial loans signals strong local enterprise growth, which means more successful businesses, job creation, and greater prosperity for every citizen. Oxford Bank continues to see a bright future for the state, our valued customers, and our team.”

Oxford Bank ranks within the 93rd percentile of long-standing U.S. banks and has steadily expanded and diversified significantly over its 140-year history. It became a publicly traded in 2016, has seven branches and three customer experience centers across Michigan, and continues to embrace cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated fraud prevention tools. In 2022, Oxford Bank launched Oxford Commercial Finance (OCF) to provide flexible working capital solutions nationwide and rebranded its wealth and advisory services as Oxford Wealth Management. In 2024, the bank introduced its award-winning Money Masters Financial Literacy Program aimed at educating individuals from youth to retirees on making financial decisions.
