Stainless Software Raises $25M in Series A

Stainless Software, Inc., a NYC-based provider of an API platform, raised $25M in Series A funding.

The round was led by a16z with participation from Sequoia, The General Partnership, Felicis, Zapier, MongoDB Ventures, and some operators, including Claire Hughes Johnson (former Stripe COO) and Amit Agarwal (Datadog President).

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.

Founded by Alex Rattray, Stainless provides SDKs for REST API. With it, companies can build API DX without dedicating full-time engineers to SDK maintenance. Their SDKs are consistent across languages, up-to-date, and easy for developers to use, even with rapidly changing APIs.

AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Runway, and Meta’s Llama Stack use Stainless to empower their SDKs.
