Looking for a unique holiday gift? The Lighthouse Preservation Society (LPS) has the answer – give the gift of a meal served at the top of the 150 year–old Newburyport Lighthouse.
LPS is celebrating over 25th years offering up this opportunity to have a romantic breakfast, lunch or dinner in the historic lighthouse.
LPS Founder and President James Hyland explains, “The one-of-a-kind lighthouse dining experience was developed as a pilot project to show how an abandoned lighthouse tower could be adaptively reused and preserved, using romantic meals as a funding mechanism. It has proved to be a remarkable success, with reservations being booked throughout the year.”
The dining experience has recently added a new provider this year in Port Vida Mexican Cantina. “That brings us up to six restaurants to choose from with some great variety being offered”, according to Hyland.
Lighthouse Preservation Society – The Lighthouse Preservation Society is the nonprofit organization that has made lighthouse preservation a national issue with Congressional hearings, conferences, the sponsorship of National Lighthouse Day and its celebrations, the nomination of 35 U.S. lighthouse stamps, and the raising of nearly $6 million for over 160 lighthouse projects.
