JAFCO hosted its annual “All In For JAFCO” Poker Tournament, bringing together a record-breaking number of participants in support of children with developmental disabilities and their families. The evening included a heartfelt presentation about the Children’s Ability Center, dinner, a silent auction, and poker, all aimed at raising funds for the JAFCO Children’s Ability Center. The Center supports children with developmental disabilities and their families, offering a variety of programs and services, from respite care and family support to child enrichment services and summer camp.
This year’s tournament brought together over 100 guests who enjoyed an open top shelf bar, world class catering, premiere whiskey tasting, and a professionally hosted Poker Tournament. The event was hosted at Illuminate Event Venue, JAFCO’s unique event space that offers employment opportunities for young adults with autism. Revenue from the venue directly supports the Children’s Ability Center programs and services.
“The poker tournament began as a fun way to bring together JAFCO’s community for an evening of friendly competition and supporting a meaningful cause,” said Perry Isenberg, Chair of the Poker Tournament. “The event continues to grow each year, and we’re thrilled to welcome our first corporate poker partner, Amerant Bank,” Isenberg said. “We also want to thank the Miami HEAT, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, and Primo Liquors as well as so many others who helped make our event a night to remember.”
The JAFCO Children’s Ability Center serves children from birth to age 22 who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability and their families. The state-of-the-art facility includes an art studio, gym, life and social skills rooms, music and drama studios and an outdoor playground and splash pad. The campus also has three respite homes where children can stay overnight, providing families with peace of mind and valuable respite while their children build friendships, develop new skills and gain independence.
The lives of more than 7,000 children and families in the community have been touched since the JAFCO Children’s Ability Center opened its doors 10 years ago.
