Christopher Rinn Named Grand Marshal of 2025 Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Shamrocks, bagpipes, and community spirit will take center stage on Sunday, March 9, 2025, as the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee proudly names Christopher Rinn, President & CEO of VNA Health Group, as this year’s Grand Marshal. Mr. Rinn will lead the parade in a celebration of culture, tradition, and giving back to the community.

The annual parade, a beloved tradition since 2013, is more than just a celebration of Irish pride—it’s a powerful force for good, raising funds to support local organizations that improve the lives of those in the Greater Rumson area.

Christopher Rinn, a longtime resident of Fair Haven, has deep ties to the Irish community. His maternal great-great-grandfather, John McIntyre, immigrated from Ireland to America through Castle Garden, the country’s first immigrant processing center before Ellis Island. Christopher deepened his connection to his roots during a 2022 journey through the Emerald Isle, traveling across the country from Ballyheigue to Dublin.

As the leader of VNA Health Group—one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of home health care, hospice, and community-based care—Christopher embodies the parade’s mission of giving back. His dedication extends beyond his professional role, serving as Vice Chair of the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County’s Board of Directors, as a former councilman for the Borough of Fair Haven, and as an active supporter of many local charities and non-profits.

“It’s an incredible honor to be selected as the Grand Marshal of the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade,” said Rinn. “This event speaks to the strength of our community, our shared heritage, and our ability to come together to support organizations making a real difference. I look forward to marching alongside neighbors and friends on March 9th.”

The Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which began in 2013, has since grown exponentially, drawing thousands of spectators and participants. The parade celebrates Irish culture each year with bagpipe bands, festive floats, and community pride while supporting local charities. To date, the parade has donated to over 22 local organizations, making a lasting impact across the region.

“Christopher embodies the values of service and community that the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebrates,” said Chris Smith, Co-Chair of the Parade Committee and Little Silver Councilman. “We’re proud to have him as our Grand Marshal, and we know his leadership and dedication will inspire others to support this year’s parade and its mission.”

Past Grand Marshals have included prominent leaders such as Governor Phil Murphy, Brigadier General Pete Dawkins, and OceanFirst Bank Chairman Christopher D. Maher. Christopher Rinn will join this distinguished group as he leads the 2025 parade through the heart of Rumson.
