Valley View University Presents New Women’s Health Series Hosted By Valley View Providers

Who/What: Valley View, an independent, not-for-profit health system based in Glenwood Springs, Colo., is pleased to announce its Women’s Health Series as part of its Valley View University (VVU) series. Whether juggling career, family or personal goals, this series offers expert insights, practical tips and a Q&A to help women learn more about their well-being through important health topics. These free, live virtual webinars designed specifically for women by female providers will take place via Zoom on Thursdays from 12 to 1 p.m.

Women’s Health and Weight Loss |Thursday, Jan. 16, 12 p.m. MT

  • Details: Katie Mang-Smith, MD, a trained OB/GYN at Valley View’s Women’s Health, will present “Women’s Health and Weight Lost.” In this 30-minute webinar, followed by an open Q&A, Dr. Mang-Smith will discuss the impacts of obesity and the benefits of weight loss on a woman’s overall health throughout the stages of her life.

Taking Control: Bladder Issues & Treatment for Women 101 | Thursday, Jan. 23, 12 p.m. MT

  • Details: Jamie Lowe, MD, a urologist at Valley View’s Rocky Mountain Urology Center, will present “Taking Control: Bladder Issues & Treatment for Women 101.” In this 30-minute webinar, followed by an open Q&A, Dr. Lowe will discuss female urology including bladder control issues, UTIs and treatment options.

Heart Health for Women | Thursday, Feb. 6, 12 p.m. MT

  • Details: Katrina Metcalf, PA-C, a nurse practitioner at Valley View’s Heart & Vascular Center, will present “Heart Health for Women.” In this 30-minute webinar, followed by an open Q&A, Metcalf will discuss maintaining a healthy heart, the impacts of cholesterol and making lifestyle changes tailored to women’s cardiovascular health.

Menopause Explained | Thursday, Feb. 27, 12 p.m. MT

  • Details: Elizabeth Cruse, MD, a board-certified internist at Valley View’s Internal Medicine, will present “Menopause Explained.” In this 30-minute webinar, followed by an open Q&A, Dr. Cruse will discuss the impact of and various treatment options for the symptoms of menopause and perimenopause. She will answer questions such as what it is, what to expect and how to handle it.
