NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rockefeller Asset Management, the asset management arm of Rockefeller Capital Management, today announced the appointment of Jai Jacob, a respected industry leader with nearly 30 years of experience, as Managing Director and Director of Investment Strategy. Jacob will also be a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Most recently, Jacob was a member of Lazard Asset Management’s executive leadership team as Chair of the Quantitative, Multi-Asset, and Alternatives Investment Group. He also served as Co-Head of Dynamic Portfolio Solutions and Lead Portfolio Manager for several equity and multi-asset strategies.
In this newly created role, Jacob will help lead Rockefeller Asset Management’s growing equity solutions, focusing on combining quantitative techniques with fundamental research to support the investment process, generate differentiated alpha signals, and manage risk. He will act as co-portfolio manager on select strategies and collaborate with institutional investors to develop equity strategies that meet the increasingly bespoke needs of the Firm’s clients. Reporting to Casey Clark, President and Chief Investment Officer for Rockefeller Asset Management, Jacob will also support Rockefeller Asset Management’s efforts to advance two important industry trends – technology and customization.
“A highly accomplished investor with a wealth of expertise and global leadership experience, Jai has played a leading role in managing and growing industry-leading investment solutions and is uniquely suited to assume this critical role at Rockefeller Asset Management,” said Clark. “As we continue to grow, we remain intensely focused on building customized solutions that aim to deliver differentiated sources of alpha to meet the evolving needs of our clients and attracting world class investors to our platform.”
Prior to joining Rockefeller, Jacob worked for nearly three decades at Lazard Asset Management in a variety of roles encompassing executive leadership, portfolio management, software development, and risk management. He holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
The appointment of Jacob is the latest in a series over the past two years, including Alex Petrone, Director of Fixed Income, Jason Kotik and Timothy Skiendzielewski, Portfolio Managers for U.S. Small and SMid Cap strategies, and Scott Cottier, Mark DeMitry, and Michael Camarella, Portfolio Managers for High Yield Municipal Bond solutions.
