Venable LLP today announced that former U.S. Senator and Congressman Dean Heller has joined the firm as a senior policy advisor in the firm’s Washington D.C. office.
In the Senate, Heller represented Nevada and served as a member of the chamber’s Finance Committee, Banking Committee, Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and Commerce Committee. Before that, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives, including on the House Ways and Means Committee. He was previously a member of the Nevada state assembly and served as the Nevada Secretary of State.
“Senator Heller will bring valuable policy experience in tax, energy, health, banking, and commerce to Venable and its clients,” said Stu Ingis, chairman of Venable. “He is well regarded by his former colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the Senate and the House of Representatives. I am pleased to welcome him to the firm.”
“Venable has an excellent reputation for strong and informed advocacy for its clients,” said Heller. “I am excited to join the firm and work with my colleagues to help clients navigate the new administration and Congress.”
“Senator Heller’s policy and political acumen earned the respect and friendship of both Republicans and Democrats during his time in Congress and contributed to a successful track record of passing legislation,” said Josh Finestone, senior policy advisor at Venable. “As one of his former senior aides in the U.S. Senate, I am personally thrilled to once again work with Senator Heller.”
